人日

Today's what we Chinese call "人日", or the birthday for all people. Legend has it that humans were created on the 7th day of the lunar year after the creation of the world and other things.

Traditionally, we eat a dish called "鱼生", which is made up of slices of raw fishes, lots of carrots, radishes, and other stuff. Everyone gets together to "lao hei" and celebrate!

Though in recent times, people have been doing this on other days of the lunar new year, and even before the lunar new year, instead of doing it on the 7th day as tradition dictates. Well, I guess even age old traditions have to evolve and change to keep up with times.

今日はみんなの誕生日だよ。中国人とはね。春節の七日は人々が世界に生まれた日と言われた。

私たちもこの日を祝賀ためにあることをした。それは、「魚生」（yusheng）というものを食べること。生魚がはいてるから、その名がついてるかな。その生魚のほかにもたくさんの野菜がはいてる。味も悪くないよ。
